Nepaul and Sons Hardware
It is everybody’s dream to be successful in life and ultimately to be their own boss – well at least the majority of us. It’s highly improbable for anyone to sit by and have his or her dream come true without doing anything about it. So when Zachariah Nepaul visualized what position he would like to find himself in, he did not hesitate very long before he started paving the way to make his dream a reality. His dream was to establish one of the largest and most centrally located hardware store in Savanna-La-Mar, Westmoreland.
As a young man Zachariah landed a job with the Ministry Of Works as a haulage contractor in the Road and Works department in Savanna-La-Mar. He worked there for about 15 years and during a restructuring process, he was among those sidelined. He then started his hardware business with one bundle of lumber and a few bags of cement from home. Afterwards the stock was broadened to include nails and zinc. As the business got better, he started a block factory on Hudson Street. This was in 1979. It was later discovered that the business had grown so much, from small quantities of different items to large stocks. Mr. Nepaul had to travel to Kingston weekly to purchase stock and do his own removal. There were only 2 members of staff then, but this has increased to more than 60.
Three locations later namely, 44 Rose Street, Savanna-La-Mar; Lot 1152 Catherine Hall Montego Bay and their Block Factory- Hudson Street Savanna-La-Mar. Nepaul and Sons Hardware is committed to growing from strength to strength. Stop by any of their locations or give them a call today!
