LIAT employee arrested after arriving in Barbados

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A LIAT employee was on Tuesday arrested in Barbados, shortly after arriving at the Grantley Adams International Airport on a flight from St Lucia.

In a statement Wednesday, the management of LIAT Ltd confirmed the arrest of its employee, saying that the individual is “assisting law enforcement officers with their investigations into a drug-related matter”.

The management of LIAT also indicated its “full support” for, and cooperation with, law enforcement authorities in relation to the matter.
