UPDATE: Renewed blood-donation call for shot policewoman
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Police Federation says that their blood donation call to assist a female corporal of police, who was shot multiple times early this morning, has had favourable response, but an urgent need still exists.

Up to half an hour ago the medical team advised that there is still need for more blood and therefore we continue to call on the public in general to assist us by going to a collection centre,” Wilson told OBSERVER ONLINE moments ago.Wilson said that a large number of police officers have so far responded and that members of the public have also gone to blood collection centres to donate blood.“For that, on behalf of the entire team, we are very grateful, and also for those members who have responded,” he stated.The policewoman, who is assigned to the Police Commissioner’s Office, was attacked at a bus stop about 6:05 am in the east Kingston community of Franklyn Town while on her way to work and shot several times, according to police reports.Alphea Saunders
