65-y-o man gets life for wife’s murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 65-year-old St Ann businessman, Bertram Clarke, who had contracted two schoolboys to kill his 74-year-old wife in 2007, was today sentenced to life imprisonment.
Arthur Robinson, now 24, who had stabbed Floris Clarke to death in 2007, was also sentenced to life imprisonment.
Clarke will be eligible for parole after 25 years while Robinson will be eligible after 21 years.
The sentence was handed down a short while ago by Justice Gloria Smith in the Supreme Court.
The second schoolboy, Emmanuel Newland, had pleaded guilty in 2011 and is serving a 15-year sentence.
