Charley’s JB Rum/ KSAFA Super League Semi Finals
Maverley/Hughenden will oppose Rockfort FC, while Barbican will meet Brown’s Town in the semi-finals of the Charley’s JB Rum/KSAFA Super League at the Constant Spring football field under the lights today.
At 6:30 pm Brown’s Town and Barbican will meet, with Barbican seeking a return to the National Premier League play-off and ultimately to the highest level of football after being demoted in 2015.
Coach Mark Scotland is confident that they will be victorious as they defeated Brown’s Town 2-0 in their last preliminary meeting, and he is relying on Akino Bailey, Keino Simpson, Jadain Redwood, Jermaine Parris, Nicholas Smith, and Greg Taylor to be his main players in getting his team to the final.
Brown’s Town’s new coach Keon Broderick, who took over during the season, is also exuding confidence that his team can get the better of Barbican this time around, and he will be looking to Robert Coley, Kamali Coburn, Joshua McNaughton, Mikhail George and Derron Beckford to get the job done.
The feature match at 8:30 pm will see the favourites Maverley/Hughenden taking on Rockfort FC. Maverley/Hughenden coach Lijyasu Simms is expecting that the result will be the same as they came from 2-0 down in their preliminary match to defeat their opponents 4-2. He will look to leading goal scorer Phillip Peddie (13 goals), Andrew Peddlar, Wayne Williams, Rohan Williams, Morias Somers and Omari Edwards to lead his team to the final. Leon Mitchell, coach of Rockfort FC, is also expecting to get his team past the semi-final stage this year after losing to Real Mona in 2015.
He is expecting Shevaughn Williams, Calvin Campbell, Sheldon Green, Twain Wynter, Albert Aarons and Jermaine Freckleton to ensure that they are in the final next week.
