Mayor’s Message to Munro
It gives me great joy to share in this medium and to congratulate Munro College on its 160th Anniversary. This institution has undoubtedly impacted the parish of St. Elizabeth and by extension this country; producing bright and well-rounded young minds who have contributed greatly to this society and others across the globe.
The visionaries of this All-boys school situated in the small community of Potsdam St. Elizabeth must be lauded for creating an institution that has such meaningful significance to this parish – being a well sought-after institution for High School prospects. As a Munro Old Boy of the Coke Farquerson House I know the inedible mark Munro has placed on my life and on St. Elizabeth with young men not only doing well academically but in Football, Cricket, Hockey, Track and Field, other sports as well as other extra-curricular activities.
The rich history of this institution has attributed to its strong success. May all stakeholders play your part in ensuring the continuity of Munro College as the opulent institution it has proudly been recognized. As you celebrate this major accomplishment may the Munro College flag continue to be flown high as you continue the tradition of excellence for “In arce sitam quis occultabit” – the City set upon a Hill cannot be hid.
Yours,
His Worship the Mayor,
Councillor Everton Fisher
