UPDATE: Search on for missing American missionary
ST MARY, Jamaica – The St Mary police are now carrying out a massive search for a missing American man in Albion Mountain in the parish.
Harold Nichols is being treated as a missing person after his missionary colleague Randy Hentzel was found dead on Saturday afternoon.
Police from the Canine Division and approximately 70 residents from Boscobel, St Mary, are assisting the St Mary police with the search.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Dwight Powell said the police are hoping to find Nichols alive.
Nichols and Hentzel reportedly rented two motor bikes in Ocho Rios, St Ann, yesterday and went on the mountainous trail in St Mary.
The police were called in after residents found Hentzel’s body with the hands bound beside a motor bike.
A bike, which was being driven by Nichols, was also found nearby.
DSP Powell appealed to residents who may have information which could assist the police to call the Port Maria Police Station.
