The ‘Cal’s Derby Watch’
The 96th running of the prestigious Jamaica Derby scheduled for Saturday June 25 will again be sponsored by Cal’s Manufacturing Limited. The Cal’s sponsorship this year is worth $2 million, of which $1.5 million will go directly to purse money.
Sabrina Thomas, marketing manager at Cal’s, speaking at a recent press conference to officially announce her company’s sponsorship, informed that Cal’s will be conducting promotional activities for the six weeks leading up to the Jamaica Derby.
“It gives me great pleasure to launch this promotion called ‘The Cal’s Derby Watch’. The ‘Cal’s Derby Watch’ is geared at highlighting all the promotional activities to be undertaken through the different media houses for the next six weeks leading up to the Cal’s Jamaica Derby.
“We are excited about this venture as this intense and extensive promotion is to bring about the buzz and awareness of the Cal’s Jamaica Derby 2016,” Thomas said.
“The activities are scheduled to begin shortly. A five-minute feature on Cal’s products will be aired on CVM TV every Wednesday morning; a five-minute feature will be aired during the programme ‘Scoreboard’ on KLAS FM 89 every Friday; KLAS FM 89 will also be doing live roving reports/interviews in the stands with patrons and doing spot giveaways; Cal’s products will be featured in the
Complete Racing Guide of the Jamaica Observer every Friday, and promotions will be held at six Off Track Betting Stations by the Cal’s team every Saturday leading up to the big day,” she further informed.
Cedric Stewart, chief executive officer at Caymanas Track Limited (CTL), welcomed the sponsorship from Cal’s.
“We are happy to have Cal’s Manufacturing on board again, and we look forward to the collaboration going into what will be a great Derby on June 25, 2016,” he said.
