Several workers injured as building collapses in Negril
NEGRIL, Jamaica – Several construction workers were rushed to hospital this morning, after a section of a building under construction at the former Grand Lido hotel in Negril collapsed.
OBSERVER ONLINE is unable to ascertain the cause of the collapse and the condition of the injured workers who are currently receiving treatment at the Noel Holmes Hospital in Hanover and the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital in Westmoreland.
It is also understood that several workers are also trapped under the rubble of the two-storey building that was being constructed.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 6:00 am
Personnel from the Negril Police Station and the Negril Fire Department are currently on the scene.
