UPDATE: Several cell phones heard ringing underneath rubble
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Emergency personnel now on-site at the former Grand Lido hotel in Negril, Westmoreland, where a section of a building under construction collapsed this morning, say a number of cell phones can be heard ringing underneath the rubble.
It is understood that several workers are trapped under the rubble of the two-storey building that was being constructed.
So far, one worker has been rescued as emergency personnel continue their efforts.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 6:00 am
OBSERVER ONLINE is still unable to ascertain the cause of the collapse and the condition of the injured workers who were earlier rushed to hospital and are currently receiving treatment at the Noel Holmes Hospital in Hanover and the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital in Westmoreland.
