Haiti’s former justice minister dies
PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti (CMC) — Former justice and Public Security minister, Louis Gary Lissade, has died after a prolonged illness. He was 69 years old.
Lissade died in a Miami hospital on Monday, according to the Justice and Public Security Minister Camille. The cause of death was not disclosed.
“It is with dismay that I learned the passing of the former minister of justice and public security, Louis Gary Lissade. I deplore the loss,” said Edouard Jr, adding “A mapou has fallen! Rest in peace Gary.”
Attorney Stanley Gaston has described his death as a huge loss for the legal fraternity and said that the bar association intends to organise activities to honour his memory.
Lissade served as justice and public security minister in the administrations of former presidents Jean Bertrand Aristide and Boniface Alexandre.
