The Celebrity declares his love

Budding singjay The Celebrity said his latest single is dedicated to the females. The track is entitled Love You Same Way.

In an interview with Splash, the entertainer said it was a recent on-air spat between media personalities that inspired him to write.

“The idea for the song came about after there were talks about Miss Kitty and Yanique Barrett getting surgical procedures to enhance their bodies. After the war of words on national television, a lot of tongues went wagging and persons were throwing blows at both parties about their ‘fabricated’ bodies. To me, it doesn’t matter if a female body is fake or real. Therefore, I will never tear a female down because of what she does or not do to her physical being,” he said.

Love You Same Way was released in March and produced by New York-based Reggae Vibes Production.

In addition to promoting his single, The Celebrity is also putting final touches to his six track EP called Movie Lifestyle. Slated to be released this summer, the EP will feature tracks such as Zillion Dollar Body, Long Love, and Make Money.

“The songs are all happy songs which are fitting for the summer holidays. The aim is to make people happy and feel good about themselves,” he said.

The Celebrity, whose given name is Adrian Campbell, spent his earlier years in St Mary. Discovering his passion for the art while attending Tacky High School in the parish, he released his debut single Motion Wine in 2012.

Among other singles released by the entertainer are Only Reggae Music, Rescue the Poor, and High Grade.

“My musical style is a combination of crossover music with modern, uptempo dancehall. Most of my songs are directed towards the females though, as they are a major inspiration to me,” he said.
