Record crowd at Chug It Negril

DESPITE the early afternoon rains, more than 20,000 patrons poured into Wavz Beach for Chug It’s return to Negril last Sunday.

Revellers transformed the venue into a sea of pulsating energy as they partied the day and night away.

“Every year Big Bad Chug It gets better and better,” said Andrew ‘French’ Wright, Chug It’s promoter. “Chug It is the only event in Jamaica that produces an entertainment package of this calibre for the masses, and we continue to prove this with each staging. The most recent record in Negril was exceeded, as expected, and Chug It will evidently continue to dominate the party scene. Chug It is the most successful and most attended event and Winners Events will continue on its upward trend,” he continued.

Patrons were kept entertained by the DJ line-up prepping for the night’s live entertainment show, which did not disappoint.

Female dancehall deejay Spice kept the high-energy party going with her dancers.

In a ‘slim vs fluffy’ face-off, two female patrons were invited to the stage as Spice spurred them on to see who would emerge the victor. Delivering some of her most popular songs, including

Romping Shop, So Mi Like It, Needle Eye andLike A Man, the deejay found favour with the partygoers and delivered an extended encore performance.

Not to be outdone, Beenie Man started off his set with

Let’s Go, which generated an immediate reaction from the crowd. The ‘Doctor’ continued to entertain with well-known hits such asGimme Gimme, I’m Drinking, King of the Dancehall andGirls Dem Sugar.

The beach party series continues with Flex Week ‘Dancehall Festival’ during the Independence celebrations in Portmore, St Catherine.
