Popcaan and Drake vs Mr Vegas
Mr. Vegas aired his grievances with 6god Drake on international radio. The
Heads High artiste took Drake for taking Popcaan off the album version of
Controlla and instead using an old Beenie Man song as a hastily tacked on outro. And of course, since is a OVOUnruly ting Popcaan was quick to defend Drake.
Then Drake himself threw a little shade via an Instagram caption: “Had to done off Vegas…Y fi di heads high” referencing Mr. Vegas’ most known song.
Popcaan, in a video that recently surfaced online, finally put his two cents in on the entire matter, starting by saying, “Mi have a matter fi address ya now.”
Clad in a jersey that said ‘Pay Homage’ the dancehall star let Mr. Vegas and the whole world know that one simply does not diss Drizzy and that he doesn’t need or want anyone to fight his battles. In one video, the Unruly boss told Vegas to “tun off yah now”.
Vegas appeared on Hot 97 radio and stated that he was not “taking shots at Drake” but instead standing up for his culture he believed was being exploited.
In the discussion on Hot 97 radio he agreed that his issue is about giving proper credit where it’s due regarding dancehall sound, moves and culture, framing the issue becomes as broader than just
Controlla or just Drake and Popcaan.
Mr. Vegas closed off with this, “What is so wrong with giving someone proper credit?”
