PM to speak in Budget Debate today
PRIME Minister Andrew Holness will make his presentation in the 2016/17 Budget Debate when the debate resumes this afternoon at 2:00 pm at Gordon House.
The prime minister is expected to tackle a number of national issues, including crime, taxes and education, as well as several issues related to his Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and the newly created Ministry of Economic Development and Job Creation which operates out of the former.
Prime Minister Holness is the fourth speaker in the debate, following Minister of Finance and Public Service Audley Shaw, Leader of the Opposition Portia Simpson Miller, and Opposition spokesman on finance Dr Peter Phillips.
Shaw will close the debate tomorrow, after which the estimates will be voted on.
