Message from the Honourable Minister of Education, Youth and Information Senator Ruel Reid for the Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew Child Month Supplement
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Information (MOEYI) applauds the Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew for the invaluable contribution they have made over the past four decades to the children of Jamaica. The club has a rich heritage and a distinguished record of service above self and has touched lives in every “nook and cranny” of Jamaica. The Kiwanis movement remains committed and determined to change the world, one child and one community at a time.
There can be few causes more deserving of our pursuit than that of caring and nurturing our children. The theme of this year’s Child Month publication, “Investing in Our Youth, Safeguarding Our Future” cannot be overemphasized, as our nation’s children are our country’s most precious resource and must be protected. The challenges facing some of our youths are grave and we must strengthen our resolve to do all within our powers, to ensure that the rights of our children are protected.
The MOEYI is proud of the club for producing this supplement to market its community service, diverse projects and multi-achievements. I encourage the Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew to remain steadfast in its mandate of service, as you are an important contributor to nation building. Please accept my gratitude on behalf of the children of Jamaica and my encouragement as you continue to deliver your meritorious service.
Hon. Senator Ruel Reid
Minister of Education, Youth
and Information
