Will In Charge has a good chance – Pearson
Following his charge’s disappointing run in the 2,000 Guineas on April 9, trainer Robert Pearson expects a better performance from Will In Charge in tomorrow’s 76th running of the $3-million Lotto Classic for the Governor’s Cup going over 10 furlongs.
“In the 2,000 Guineas, Will In Charge finished in seventh position and his performance was a little bit lacklustre.
“I guess I raced him too close before the race rather than let him get a rest, but he has rested and now I am expecting him to be much more competitive here,” opined the trainer.
According to Pearson, his charge has been training nicely in the mornings, and is now ready for the task at hand.
“Training is going well… Will In Charge has been training very well.
“He is moving nicely in the mornings and he is coming to run tomorrow in the Governor’s Cup. I cannot complain on how his preparation has been going and so I am expecting him to run a very good race,” he said.
Pearson added that the distance of 10 furlongs won’t be a problem for his charge.
“I don’t see 10 furlongs being a problem for Will In Charge. He will get the distance comfortably…he will enjoy the distance,” he declared.
