Man shot and injured during police operation
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man was this morning shot and injured during a joint police/military operation while two illegal firearms were recovered along Tulip Lane in West Kingston.
The injured man has been identified as Jamar Walford of a Bond Street, Denham Town address.
Preliminary reports are that shortly after 6:00 am the police and members of the Jamaica Defence Force went on an operation in the community in search of wanted men.
It is said that they were shot at and returned gunfire.
Walford was later found suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital. His condition is not known at this time.
Several men were taken into custody during the operation.
