Ready for PrymeTyme
New York City has been a happy hunting ground for Jamaican dancehall artistes for over three decades.
On the flip side, Jamaican entertainers based in the Big Apple always want to make a mark back home. One of them is singjay PrymeTyme.
Based in Brooklyn, the Clarendon-born artiste is pushing Go Hard, his second EP which drops June 20 on G Records. The nine-track project’s lead single is Give Thanks.
PrymeTyme was in Kingston recently promoting song and EP. He is determined to get his career off the ground in Jamaica.
“Jamaica a di place. From it tek off a Jamaica, di world follow,” he declared.
Born Daniel Lambert, PrymeTyme began recording officially five years ago. Summer Everyday, a song produced by Anthony Miller, was his first release.
His debut EP, Fresh Out De Dirt, was released in 2012. On Go Hard, PrymeTyme believes he has matured as a lyricist and a performer.
“Mi go back to the drawing board an’ come back with something the streets need. Above all, mi more experienced as an artiste,” he said.
Go Hard will be distributed by Hapilos Records.
