Queen’s student teenAGE’s talented TEEN 2016
Student at the Queen’s school, Joellee McKenzie was last Friday crowned winner of theteenAGE Expression Tours 2016.
Joelle, a diminutive sub-prefect at Queen’s wowed the judges with a strong dramatic performance and dub poem to take home the winning trophy and cash for her hard work.
McKenzie’s comedic piece on a husband’s infidelity had the judges and audience cracking up in laughter at her dramatic movements and great storytelling.
Second place went to Yhhane Brown from Muschette High who deejayed an original song. Brown also copped our Most Creative Piece award. The top three was rounded off by an also very creative dancing composition by a group of dancers from St Mary High, going by the name Project Dubstep.
Extraordinary vocalist, also from the Queen’s School, Darrian Gordon – who gave an emotional performance – went away with the Voters Choice Award.
