INSPORTS ordered closed until fire probe completed
SPORTS Minister Olivia Grange has ordered the offices of the Institute of Sports (INSPORTS) remain closed until investigations into Tuesday’s fire is completed.
“The ministry awaits the outcome of the investigation by the fire department along with the Special Crime unit which has commenced immediate investigation into the incident,” a ministry release quoted Grange.
The fire, which started in the accounts department, caused damage to some records, furniture and equipment.
Grange’s ministry, in a release, said the fire was discovered at about 7:10 am by an auxiliary staff member who was cleaning the offices.
“Quick action from the fire department and a few staff members on hand at the time extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading,” the release said.
