UPDATE: 4th person in St Ann crash dies at hospital
ST ANN, Jamaica — A fourth person has died as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash in St Ann, Tuesday night.
Michael Glasgow, the 21-year-old owner of the Honda Civic car which collided with a truck along the Llandovery main road, died on Wednesday while being treated at hospital.
Glasgow, OBSERVER ONLINE was told was a passenger in the back seat of the car which was being driven by a friend of his who died on the spot.
Three of the six people, who were also travelling in the car died Tuesday night.
Police have identified them as: Jaynor Powell, Eric Forbes and Tenesha Douglas. The other two occupants remain hospitalised.
The six people, employees of the Bahia Principe Hotel in Runaway Bay, were returning from work shortly after 7:00pm when the incident occurred.
Socials relations manager at Bahia Principe, Farah Blake, told the OBSERVER ONLINE that it was a sombre mood on the property on Wednesday.
“We are trying to cope…we are trying our best, but it is difficult,” Blake said.
She said counsellors including one from the St Ann’s Bay Hospital have been on property talking to staff.
Blake said the hotel has been getting support from all areas, including the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association.
Newly elected President Omar Robinson also visited the property on Wednesday.
