Producer SmoodFace moves centre stage
UNITED Kingdom-based producer SmoodFace has a lot to smile about these days. Several of his Glendevon Records’ productions are enjoying prime time rotation.
SmoodFace is, however, intent on adding the title of recording artiste to his résumé.
“Basically I am focusing on my career now. As a musician and producer, I have pretty much shown the world my skill set with hits like Don Andre’s
Tom Cruise, Alkaline’sMek Di Money, Stylo G’sWinter Swag, and Hurt It Up by Spookie, to name a few. So now it’s all about SmoodFace the artiste,” he told Splash.
Among his releases will be an upcoming EP called That’s What I Like. Produced on his Glendevon Records, the seven-track sets slated to be released next month.
In addition to the title track, the EP will feature tracks including Love Memory, Take Your Life Away andMake She Scream.
“Of all the tracks, I am most excited about the steamy single Love Memory, which is already gaining traction on local and international radio. ButLove Memory is just a sample of the what is to come, as my upcoming EP will be a classic. It features some of my best work as an artiste, and I am very confident that it will resonate well with local and international music lovers,” said SmoodFace.
SmoodFace (given name Aldin Taylor) spent his earlier years between Duhaney Park and Waterhouse in St Andrew. He migrated to to the United Kingdom in 2002 at 19. While in the UK, he embarked on a music career.
“I had no formal training. I taught myself everything I knew and so far everything is paying off. My biggest success so far is to get two of my productions, Stylo G’s
Winter Swag and Rvussian and Gappy Ranks’Swag Tun Up, on BBC Extra playlist,” he said.
