Two prisoners escape Santa Cruz lock-up, one recaptured
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – The St Elizabeth police are confirming that two men on murder charges escaped from the Santa Cruz police lock-up in early afternoon Thursday.
One escapee, Entley Smith, was recaptured not long after.
The second man, Jason Beadle, remained on the run up to late afternoon.
Police say there is a full-scale operation for Beadle’s recapture.
Police reports are that the two men were in a holding area on the passage of the cell block when they “pushed down” police personnel who had entered the section and ran away.
Reports are that Smith had previously escaped from the Santa Cruz lock-up and was recaptured.
