Masked men kill vendor in Portland, injure woman
PORTLAND, Jamaica – A man was shot dead and a woman injured by unknown assailants on St George Street in Portland on Saturday.
Dead is 55-year-old Patrick Brown, a vendor of Willowdene in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
Reports from the police are that about 9:40 pm, Brown and the woman were at his motor vehicle when they were allegedly approached by masked men.
Shortly afterwards explosions were reportedly heard.
The police were alerted and Brown and the woman were taken to hospital where Brown was pronounced dead. The woman was admitted in serious condition.
Police say investigations continue.
