Mayor Fisher’s Message
I take this opportunity to greet and applaud the entrepreneurs of the parish of St. Elizabeth who continue to contribute to the economy of our parish and our country as a whole. Despite the tight fiscal space that we have been operating under for the past few years; they have weathered the storm and have added significantly to the development of the parish. From the big businesses to the small vendors in our markets and on the street corners; you all have made your own contribution to the livelihood of our parish.
With the closure of ALPART, which put a major dent in the economy, we have experiencing a difficult period for the last five years. Nonetheless, our people have put their shoulders to the wheel and are fighting back.
The St. Elizabeth Parish Council with the support of the Sugar Transformation Unit has just completed the St. Elizabeth Development Plan and it is our intention to collaborate with Public and Private Partners to implement some aspects of the plan as we look forward to 2030.
May I thank the people of this great parish for their hard work and dedication and also wish for them God’s choicest blessings in the years ahead.
