Reggae singer Abajonai looks to Brighter Day
Convinced his generation has been handed the short end of the stick by politicians, singer Abajonai has striven to convey a positive message since he began recording six years ago.
He lives up to that reputation on Brighter Day, his new song, produced by No Gravity Records.
“Wi try give a message of upliftment. Not that there aren’t positive messages from other artistes, but there can’t be too many,” he said.
Brighter Day is among a batch of songs he currently has on the market. Others being Do Some Good Today andIncense Burning.
Abajonai (born Hughgan Thompson) is from Above Rocks in the St Catherine hills. He launched his career in 2009 with the song Lie, produced by Gary Sutherland.
That was followed by songs like the self-produced Legalise The Herb and Rock And Come In for May Day Music.
Abajonai is scheduled to perform on Cockburn Pen Jamboree on Saturday at Cockburn Pen football field in Kingston.
