Cops seize over 250 pounds of ganja, no arrests
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – The Half-Way-Tree police is reporting that its detectives seized 270 pounds of ganja earlier this week, during operations in the Kingston 10 area.
The police said in a news release that between 4:00 pm and midnight Monday, an operation was carried out on Kew Road, where a search of premises resulted in the seizure of approximately 70 pounds of ganja.
Then on Tuesday, another operation was carried out at Fidel Close between 4:00 pm and midnight, where approximately 200 pounds of ganja was seized.
The police say the estimated street value of the illicit drug is J$1.3 million.
No one was arrested in connection with the find, the police say.
