Keznamdi revels in Lost Love
Reggae singer/songwriter Keznamdi is upbeat on today’s release of Lost Love, which will form part of an upcoming EP scheduled later this year.
Lost Love is produced by Natural High Music, which has been at the helm of most of his recorded material. The track is available on all digital media platforms, with a music video on Keznamdi’s YouTube and social media pages.
“Following the release of my first EP Bridge the Gap two years ago, and all the success certain tracks had on Billboard charts and other international reggae charts, I really wanted to put out another set of songs just to let my fans know just where I am at this time and ahead of a full-length album,” Keznamdi told Splash.
“So this is the first single and it is a track showing the power of love, and what can happen when what we perceive as love is harmful and deceitful, and how unstoppable the force can be when two people are really growing in love. It’s based on my own limited experiences and what I have seen those around me go through, so I know a lot of people out there will be able to relate,” he continued.
The dreadlocked singer, brother to reggae act Kelissa, said the upcoming EP will consist of between six and eight tracks, all showcasing various sides and emotions.
“The music on Lost Love is really interesting. Right now, the early music of veterans such as Sly and Robbie is really popular, and current acts are using it as influence for their music. However, we chose to take it back even further and draw on earlier music… just when reggae was fresh. So it’s a nice blend. For the EP, we have so many tracks to choose from that we really can’t decide which ones will be included. So there will be a Volume One and Volume Two of the EP just to include more and get the music out there. UnlikeBridge the Gap which was about fusing the sounds of my experiences living in Jamaica, Tanzania, Ethiopia and California, there is no real theme to these works, but just showcase where I am musically.”
“I don’t believe in just dropping an album and then my fans never hear from me again until there is a new polished album ready and they never have any idea how I got to this place. So these EPs give them a sense of where I am until the album is ready,” said Keznamdi.
