#NatlTrials: McPherson showcases fine form in women’s 400m semis
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Stephenie-Ann McPherson signalled a return to form as she led the finalists from the women’s 400m semi-finals on day three of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA)/Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) National Senior Championships at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Christine Day of Cameron Blazers easily won heat one in 50.43 seconds, followed by World Championships 4X400m relay teammate Shericka Jackson (51.46s) of University of Technology (UTech) and Chrisann Gordon (51.51s), who is unattached.
However, McPherson of MVP set the track alight as she came home in an even faster 50.33 seconds, to win ahead of the decorated Novlene Williams-Mills (50.89s) and Anneisha McLaughlin Whilby (51.35s).
The final is scheduled for Sunday evening.
