Man flees on seeing cops, leaves gun behind

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Police officers in Westmoreland are reporting the seizure of a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver pistol during an operation in Hatfield district, Westmoreland, on Friday.

Reports from police in Savanna-la-Mar are that about 12:50 pm, lawmen were in the area when they saw a man who reportedly aroused their suspicions.

On seeing the police, the man allegedly ran, leaving the weapon behind.

Police say that investigations are now under way.
