Jamaican artistes react to US shootings
Since news broke about the tragic killings of two African American men earlier this week, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, the entire world has once again been exposed to the true reality that lies within the States. Expressions of sadness and anger have erupted all over social media and artistes such as Popcaan, Tifa, Sean Paul, Cham, Agent Sasco and Tarrus Riley have all shown sympathy in regards to the situation.
On his Instagram page, Reggae artiste Jesse Royal shared a quote from Malcolm X with the caption “We need to stop looking for the right things in the wrong places!!! Tired a talking!!! #altonsterling”
“Stop killing us!!,” Cham wrote online while holding a message which read ‘Fighter of love.’
Both shootings have been circulating on various social media sites and have once again reignited the debate of black oppression in the United States.
