Scotiabank ‘A’, Ministry of Education, JUTC ‘A’, RJR/Gleaner, ATL unbeaten in Business House Open League netball

Scotiabank ‘A’, Ministry of Education, JUTC ‘A’, RJR/Gleaner, ATL unbeaten in Business House Open League netball

SCOTIABANK ‘A’, along with Ministry of Education, Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) ‘A’, RJR/Gleaner and Appliance Traders Limited (ATL) are the unbeaten teams thus far in the 2016 Business House Open League netball competition currently being played at the Leila Robinson Courts.

The Winston Nevers-coached Scotiabank ‘A’ have won five matches to lead Group One with 15 points. They have beaten National Housing Trust (NHT) ‘B’ 44-3; Wisynco ‘B’ 46-6; Guardian Life 45-6; Guardsman Group 34-4; and Housing Agency of Jamaica (HAJ) 48-2.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, who are first-timers in the competition, and winners of the opening rally, have won five matches to go atop Group Three standings, also with 15 points from five matches.

The Jennifer Brown-coached aggregation has defeated National Commercial Bank (NCB) 28-7; Digicel Jamaica Limited 30-10; Sagicor Life ‘B’ 43-4; GraceKennedy 26-13 and National Water Commission (NWC) 38-9.

ATL, who were beaten by Jamaica Urban Transit Corporation (JUTC) ‘A’ in the ‘A’ League final last year, lead Group Two with nine points from three matches. Coached by Sasha-Gaye Henry, ATL have beaten Aeronautical (AEROTEL)/Jamaica Civil Aviation Association (JCAA) 42-8; Flow Jamaica Limited 21-9; and South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) 40-15.

RJR/Gleaner, also coached by Winston Nevers, are also unbeaten after winning three matches to lead Group Five with nine points. They have defeated Sutherland Services Limited (SSL) 21-15; Stewart’s Automobile 28-5; and Financial Services Commission (FSC) 36-2.

Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) ‘A’ lead Group Six with nine points from three matches. They have so far beaten Continental Baking Company (CBC) 22-5; Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) 21-8; and Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) ‘B’ 21-8.

In results of matches played last Thursday, Urban Development Corporation (UDC) beat Housing Agency of Jamaica (HAJ) 24-14; MegaMart defeated AEROTEL/JCAA 24-11; Digicel Jamaica Limited edged out National Commercial Bank 23-22; Sagicor Life ‘A’ defeated Hardware and Lumber 23-10; Jamaica National Group defeated Jamaica Money Market Bank 31-8.

Matches played last Tuesday saw Norman Manley International Airport beating Continental Baking Company 26-10; Scotiabank ‘B’ crushing Stewart’s Automobile 43-2; National Housing Trust ‘A’ defeating Jamaica Public Services 28-1; and Guardian Life beating Wisynco ‘B’ 17-6.

Meanwhile, the Open League competition continues today with the following matches: Jamaica National (JN) Group vs Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA); Financial Services Commission (FSC) vs Stewart’s Automotive; Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) vs Jamaica Public Service (JPS); Continental Baking Company (CBC) vs Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) at 4:45 pm.

At 5:30 pm, Sagicor Life ‘B’ vs National Commercial Bank (NCB); National Housing Trust (NHT) ‘B’ vs Housing Agency of Jamaica (HAJ); Scotiabank ‘A’ vs Urban Development Corporation (UDC).

At 6:15 pm, Sagicor Life ‘A’ vs HEART Trust/NTA; National Water Commission (NWC) vs GraceKennedy; RJR/Gleaner vs Bank of Jamaica (BOJ); CariMed vs MegaMart.
