Uzi-submachine gun, ammo seized in Hanover

HANOVER, Jamaica – The police is reporting the seizure of an Uzi submachine gun with fifteen 9mm rounds of ammunition on the Ramble main road in Hanover, yesterday.

Reports from the police in Ramble are that about 9:20 pm, officers on operation signalled a vehicle to stop. The driver complied and a man was allegedly seen behaving in a suspicious manner.

He was accosted, searched and the firearm and ammunition found.

The police say he was taken into custody in connection with the seizure; however, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
