Looking to the Future…
In September 2012 we got our first class of Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) Awardees. This number has increased steadily over the years and for September 2016 we will have four (4) such classes. As the Ministry moves to phase out the All-Age Schools and Junior High Schools, before very long all our new students will be entering this school at eleven (11) or twelve (12) years old which is much more desirable than having the students coming to us at fifteen (15) or sixteen (16) years old.
In addition to having our students sitting the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examinations and the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) a concerted effort will be made to have more students sitting the City & Guilds and the NCTVET Examinations so that more of our graduates will be leaving with an Academic Certificate in one hand and a Certificate of Competence in the other hand.
