Masicka set for Dream Live Concert

Appleton Special Dream Weekend, the annual summer party series, runs from July 28 until August 1 in the beach resort town of Negril. Today, associate sponsors Jamaica Observer publishes its fifth in a series of articles on the event.

Dancehall artiste Masicka is arguably one of the hottest artistes rolling into the summer.

He recently returned from a show in Canada. One of his upcoming gigs includes a performance at Dream Live Concert at Cayenne Beach in Negril, on July 28.

The Dream Live Concert is the opener for the highly anticipated Appleton Special Dream Weekend party series scheduled for July 28 to August 1.

In an interview with the Jamaica Observer, Masicka said he is upbeat about his debut performance on the eight-year-old Dream Weekend series.

“It a go full a vibes and high energy. Montego Bay and its surroundings a me place so, of course, me know it a go slap weh,” he said.

With his hardcore deejay style, the entertainer is currently riding high with songs like Everything Me Want, Hardball, Pain ldquo;N” Sorrow, and Gas Dem.

“It’s all about the work that I have been putting in. The Dream Live Concert has only top acts on it, so to get a spot on it means that I am doing a good thing,” he said.

The concert will also feature Spice, Bounty Killer, Ding Dong, Popcaan and Elephant Man.

Before the Dream Live Concert, Masicka is slated to perform at Reggae Sumfest later this month. The deejay is also working on new singles with American rappers Busta Rhymes and Kid Rock, while promoting one of his latest singles, Dem No Frighten We.

Masicka, whose given name is Javaun Fearon, is currently signed to the Corey Todd-owned Takeova Records.

He created headlines in 2014 after he walked away from the Subkonshus group, headed by fellow artiste, Konshens.

In addition to the Dream Live Concert, the Appleton Special Dream Weekend series continues on July 29, with the parties Hennessy Celebrity Playground and Twisted Spiritz. These will be followed by Daydreams and Yush on July 30. Come July 31, it’s the popular water party, Wet ‘N’ Wild and World Vibes.

The event concludes on on Emancipation Day, August 1, with Igloo and Dream J’Ouvert.
