‘Hello’ killed in St Andrew
Thirty-seven-year-old Kirk Francis, otherwise called ‘Hello’ of Downer Lane, Swallowfield, Kingston 6 was shot and killed on Old Hope Road, St Andrew yesterday. The stadium police said residents summoned them about 3:15 am after they heard explosions in the area. They found Francis lying in the road with wounds. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Fatal shooting in St James
One man was fatally shot during a confrontation with police in Hurlock, Granville, St James about 3:50 am yesterday. He has been identified as 45-year-old Wesley Clarke, otherwise called ‘Serious’ of a Hurlock address. One Browning 9mm pistol with a magazine containing three 9mm rounds and one Ruger 9mm pistol with a magazine containing six 9mm rounds were seized during the incident.
The matter has been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
Man succumbs to injuries
Twenty-year-old Cashwayne Laing of Triverton Avenue, Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland succumbed to injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle collision on the Belmont main road in the parish on Friday.
Police report that 9:30 pm, Laing and a pillion passenger, reportedly lost control of the bike and crashed into a column. Both were taken to hospital where they were admitted. Laing succumbed to his unjuries about 7:40 am on Saturday. The pillion passenger remains hospitalised.
The Bluefields Police are investigating.
