Driver in Flat Bridge tragedy to be charged

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The driver of the motor vehicle which plunged into the Rio Cobre on Saturday, killing six people, is to be charged with six counts of manslaughter. Related story:Eighth person in Bog Walk crash turns up at police station

El Frego Slew, who turned up at the Spanish Town Police Station yesterday, reportedly confessed to being the driver of the vehicle. Based on police investigations Slew is reportedly not the holder of a driver’s license.

It is said that he was overtaking a line of traffic when he failed to negotiate the bend, resulting in the incident.
