A ‘Rebellion’ on Billboard reggae
A Brother’s Instinct, the latest album from reggae band Roots Of A Rebellion, debuts this week at number four on the Billboard Reggae Album Chart.
The eight-song set was released on July 8. It features No Control, Stronger, Peace & Love, Half Full, Dread Culture, Rebel Lion and Dub Control.
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, the six-member outfit is commonly referred to as ROAR. It consists of Austin Smith, Jeremyck Smith, Marco Martinez, Adam Quellhorst, Troy Wiggins and Justin Smith.
Roots Of A Rebellion joins four American bands in the Billboard Reggae Top 10. The others are The Movement at number 10 with Golden; Iration at number seven with Hotting Up; Set In Stone by Stick Figure at number three; and Falling Into Place by Rebelution which is number one.
Ziggy Marley’s self-titled former number one album moves up to number two this week, while Vybz Kartel’s King Of The Dancehall is number five.
The compilation Reggae Sun Jammin’ falls to number six, and Soca Gold 2016, the collection from VP Records, slips to number eight.
Back in the Top 10 at number nine is Water For Your Soul by Joss Stone which has sold over 34,000 copies since its release last July.
