U-20 World Champs: Gold, bronze for Ja in women’s 400m
BYDGOSZCZ, Poland- Tiffany James delivered a historic gold medal for Jamaica as she won the womens 400m at the IAAF World Under 20 Championships at Zawiszaw stadium in Bydgoszcz, Poland in yet another personal best and World Junior leading 51.32 seconds earlier today.
Junelle Bromfield also took the bronze medal after she stopped the clock at 52.05 seconds as Jamaica got on the medal tables for the first time this week.
The USA’s Lynna Irby was second in a personal best 51.39 seconds.
It was the first gold for Jamaica in the one lap event after three silver medals, two by Sonita Sutherland in 2004 and 2006 and two bronze.
