West Haven Children’s Home to benefit from football festival
MONTEGO BAY, St James — The West Haven Children’s Home is to benefit from this Saturday’s Cariblanta Soccer Fest 2016 at Jarrett Park, hosted by Violet Tourers and featuring six teams in the one-day tournament.
The event is in its seventh year and will be staged in Montego Bay for the first time after being held in Spanish Town and York Town, Clarendon previously.
A release from the organisers said that their mission was to reach out into other communities, with Montego Bay selected this year. Further, Montego Bay is the location of the West Haven Children’s Home, which would benefit from the tournament.
The six teams taking part are Cariblanta out of Atlanta, Georgia in the US; Reno, White House, St Ann’s Masters, Black Lion, and Violet Tourers, from across the Island.
The teams will be playing for the Macklin Peterkin Trophy, named in honour of the late former treasurer of the St James Football Association.
