Winners’ comments…Winners’ comments…Winners’ comments

The Complete Racing Guide shares the comments of some of the winners on the nine-race programme at Caymanas Park last Saturday.

Trained by Robert Darby Snr and ridden by Bebeto Harvey, Our Creation won the first race over 1,600 metres by over eight lengths. Harvey said: “The plan was to make one move and that was what we did; we went in front and that was that. We started to drift in deep stretch but we were too far in front for anyone to catch us.”

Flying Machine, trained by Gary Griffiths and ridden by Hakeem Pottinger, won the second race over 1,200 metres by over six lengths. Pottinger said: “The race wasn’t that difficult. We got a good break and she responded well up the lane and just ran away with it.”

The Wayne DaCosta-trained Jda, under Omar Walker, won the sixth race over 1,200 metres by four lengths. Walker said: “It was a good performance by her as she was running for the first time. She is a nice filly, who I think will develop into a nice racehorse. We broke well, tracked the leaders coming into the lane and just took over the lead in the last furlong for the victory.”

Wonder Girl, under Dane Dawkins, won the eighth race over 1,800 metres. After the race Dawkins said: “Wow! What a victory. She ran a really great race to win. She trained pretty good coming into the race, and being this light I knew we had a shot. She just did great to get up in time to score the victory. I am happy.”
