An ‘Ocean’ of drink ideas
OCEAN Spray recently held an Evening of Cranberry Discovery on the Pool Deck of the Courtyard by Marriott, New Kingston, to remind guests of the fruit’s versatility.
“Jamaica is a very strong import market for Ocean Spray as it has one of the highest per capita cranberry juice consumption rates,” Rafael Belloso, brand marketing manager, Ocean Spray Cranberries, told the Jamaica Observer.
The main thrust of the evening was to push the brand outside of its traditional market and show ways in which the various juices could be incorporated in cocktails. To assist, mixologist St Aublyn ‘Captain’ Kidd was brought on board to show off three options for those wanting to liven up their cranberry juices. The several drinks on offer were Cranberry Light Sangria, Madras, Cranberry Mimosa, Classy Cosmopolitan and the non-alcoholic Cranberry Kiss.
All were simple to remember and could be replicated for those planning to entertain their own parties for the summer or those on a night out on the town.
To further show off cranberry’s versatility, it was also infused into a light finger food menu. Entertainment was handled by a live performance from Skygrass, which proved the perfect background for those who took a virtual tour of a cranberry bog via booths set up for guests.
