Wife says husband confessed to killing teen boy in Guyana
GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – The police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a 14-year-old boy.
The body of Akeem Grimmond was found on Monday afternoon in the Corentyne burial ground, a short distance away from his home.
The police report that a man was arrested for the murder after he confessed to his wife.
The wife told the police that her husband made the confession, after the body was discovered.
Grimmond was last seen leaving home on Saturday to search for cattle that would usually graze in the vicinity of the burial ground.
When he did not return home, a search was carried out and the body was later found.
The police say the motive for murder is not known, but the suspect was accused of another murder a few years ago in the same community.
This is the third murder of a teenager in the country over the past two weeks.
