Accused X6 killer’s trial delayed
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The murder trial involving businessman Patrick Powell suffered yet another delay today, but is scheduled to begin in the Circuit Court next Tuesday.
Powell is to go on trial for the 2011 alleged murder of former Kingston College student, 17-year-old Khajeel Mais.
The trial was however postponed after Powell’s attorneys requested an adjournment; former attorney, Patrick Atkinson, is to rejoin the defence team.
Mais was shot dead five years ago when a taxi in which he was a passenger was reportedly fired on in Havendale, St Andrew, by the driver of a BMW X6 motor vehicle.
Powell is accused of shooting at the taxi in a fit of road rage after the car hit his motor vehicle.
