Little London score big upset over Garvey Maceo
CLARENDON PARK, Clarendon — Little London High scored a big upset, coming from behind twice to beat Garvey Maceo High 3-2 at Juici Field in Clarendon Park yesterday, in their first-ever game in the Inter-zone round of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Assosiation FLOW daCosta Cup competition.
Dadrian Davis scored twice from the penalty spot for the Westmoreland-based school, who qualified for the second round for the first time as one of the best third-placed schools.
Yesterday’s win gave them the lead in Zone Eight on goal difference over Paul Bogle High, who beat Kemps Hill 1-0 on Wednesday.
Jevaughn Maxwell and Gavin Roberts were the scorers for Garvey Maceo, who were conceding a goal for the first time this season after going 900 minutes, or 10 games, in Zone M without giving up a goal.
There were also wins yesterday for Spalding High, Fair Prospect and Ocho Rios High, while Bog Walk came from a goal down to hold Glenmuir High to a 1-1 draw in Zone Seven.
Nicholas Blair scored the equaliser for Bog Walk after the prolific Jevaun Ennis had given Glenmuir the lead in the second half.
Kale Wilson scored for Spalding High to edge Lacovia high 1-0 at the St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex in Santa Cruz and drew level with Clarendon College on three points in Zone Four.
Fair Prospect scored three times in the second half against Alston High after trailing 1-0 at half-time, while Mikel McCoy scored twice as Ocho Rios outscored St Mary Technical on a wet and heavy field at Highgate.
The first game of the double-header at Highgate, Brimmervale against Steer Town, was postponed due to heavy rains and a waterlogged field.
