Downswell, Romain Virgo deliver at seafood fest
Gospel singer Kevin Downswell and reggae act Romain Virgo delivered spectacular sets at Monday’s staging of the Grace Tropical Rhythm Port Royal Seafood Festival in Kingston.
Downswell was introduced to the audience just after most had completed their delicious dishes of seafood delights and the children had enjoyed the rides and goodies on offer.
His spiritual performance could be felt throughout the venue as he had fans of all ages singing along with outstretched arms. Downswell’s set included It’s Already Done, All the Way, Stronger, and If It’s Not You.
As usual, Romain Virgo was a crowd-pleaser. The St Ann singer’s selections added a slice of diversity to the evening’s offering. His personal mantra of performing each show like his last was clear to see as he seemed to have put his all into each track. With most of his set directed towards his female fans, Virgo had them clinging on to his every word as he belted out lyrics to songs like Rain Is Falling, Taking You Home, Love Doctor, and a cover version of Adele’s hit When Will I See You Again. He later took the audience down memory lane with songs including a cover a Percy Sledge’s When A Man Loves A Woman.
Other performances also came from Pedro, I-Octane, Ninjaman, Admiral Bailey, and Savage.
Earlier in the day, the Port Royal Seafood Festival provided a wholesome package for the entire family with numerous giveaways, sporting activities and celebrity chef cook-offs.
