In the Sunday Observer on September 11, 2016, an article was published entitled ‘One man’s wish to have his Mercedes Benz back’, in which Silver Star Motors Limited was the main subject.

According to the article, a Mercedes Benz owner reported to Silver Star Motors, as the local dealer, that his vehicle was defective, but the dealer has handled the matter poorly. The article gave the impression that Silver Star Motors had not officially responded to his complaint and was treating the issues, and its customer, with little regard.

In addition, the article gave the impression that the matter was not yet in court. The Jamaica Observer Limited has since learned that this matter is in litigation at the mandatory mediation phase, which both parties have been utilising to resolve the dispute between them before the matter returns to the court system.

Jamaica Observer Limited therefore retracts the article and unreservedly apologises to Silver Star Motors Limited and its principals for any damage which may have been caused to its reputation.
