SIX HORSES CLAIMED
Six horses were claimed on the 11-race Heroes’ Day programme at Caymanas Park on Monday.
Two Steps Up, who got the second race via the steward’s room following the disqualification of Warrior Princess, was claimed from Oneil Markland by Rohan Gordon, acting as both trainer and owner, for $250,000.
Norman Smith claimed Italiano for Gary Laing for $450,000 from Robert Darby; Steven Todd took Western Rose for himself from Christopher Pierre for $450,000; and Donovan Plummer claimed the Neive Graham-trained Storming for Pink Alaina, also for $450,000 from the third race.
In the 11th and final event on a $180,000-claiming tag, Roving Star was claimed from Anthony Subrattie by Errol Pottinger for Joseph Woodit and Batidor De Mundo was taken from Anthony Nunes by Errol Waugh for himself.
