‘Fat Man’ to answer incest, rape charges after murder case
REPUTED gangster Marvin ‘Fat Man’ Campbell, Snr, who was scheduled to answer to incest and rape charges in the St Catherine Parish Court yesterday was not brought to court.
An officer of the court informed the
Jamaica Observer that Campbell would not be brought to court until next Tuesday, but gave no reason for the decision.
Campbell, who police say is a member of the Spanish Town-based Klansman Gang, was Thursday charged with five counts of murder and is also scheduled to appear in court for those charges next Tuesday.
He is accused of leading a group of gunmen to his family’s house on March Pen Road in Spanish Town, where the five people were killed and their house torched.
The victims were identified as Salesha Evans, 24, and her nine-year-old son Revaughn Evans, Vaniesha Bartley, 22, and her two-year-old daughter Koyandra Wynter; and 14-year-old Marvin Campbell Jr.
Two other people were also injured in the October 9 attack.
The police had reported that gunmen went to the community, kicked in the doors of four houses and opened fire, hitting occupants.
The Police High Command listed Campbell as a person of interest in the killings and asked him to turn himself in. He later surrendered to the police in the company of clergyman Bishop Rohan Edwards.
